Holy Cross School, Bokaro Steel City, is a Christian Minority School founded in 1974 and managed by the members of the International Christian Women Religious Congregation known as ‘Sisters of Mercy of Holy Cross’.
Fr. Theodosius Florentini OFM CAP and Mother Maria Theresa Scherer founded this congregation in Switzerland in the year 1856. The school aims at developing the students in totality, to make him/her a perfect creation of God. Top priority is given to character building on sound moral principles. A sense of responsibility and true development of mind and character should characterize boys and girls leaving the school. They should show this by being actively concerned about national development in the true spirit of freedom, equality, justice and peace. They should feel proud of the Institution and must have a distinguished character.
To attain the aims and objectives, the sisters, together with the whole team of staff, work towards the following:

HOLY CROSS GOES HI-TECH
The virtual world seems to be more authentic to the younger generation these days than the actual one. To do justice to the children in this perpetually changing educational scenario, upgradation of the educational system in our schools is a must.Holy Cross School, Bokaro, realises this need for educational enhancement and has metamorphosed the techniques used in the classroom by installing Electronic Boards where teaching will be done via a computer and projector. Modernisation demands requisite training of personnel and for this purpose a training session for the teachers of the institution was conducted from 14th to 18th March 2011. The Resource Person was Mr.Hussain Pirwala (MBA) from the Edurite Group, Kolkata. It was fun to watch teachers become students in the five days Digital Training class and the school moves forward armed with latest tools of education to meet the onset of the new academic year. At the moment 10 classrooms are equipped with electronic boards, computers and projectors which will enhance efficiency of learning.
